Cate School Project Home
Project Summary
River rock is replaced in the stream channl to create suitable fish habitat.
The channel will support pools and riffles when water flow returns. The site is now ready for bridge installation.
The prefabricated bridge arrives at the site.
General contractor Peter Lapidus makes final adjustments to the bridge deck.
The first bridge section is hoisted over the creek and guided into the bridge abutments.
The process is repeated with the second bridge section. The two pieces are bolted together and bolted
into the bridge abutmets.
The bridge allows vehicles to travel over the stream, and fish will regain access to upstream habitat in
the Carpinteria Creek watershed.
