Week 2
October 2008
The Arizona crossing is carved out of the channel. As the weather cools,
the creek flow increases and a more advanced dewatering pump is installed.
The excavator removes the rubble from the old Arizona crossing and begins to dig the pits
for the bridge abutment. Construction crews saw off rebar from the concrete rubble for recycling.
Huge boulders are removed from the excavated pits. Many of the boulders
will be re-used to create pools during creek channel restoration.
